D.A. wants to show the "This is it" rehearsals in the trial
Deputy district attorneys, David Walgren and Deborah Brazil, want to show the last two days of rehearsals for the "This is it" tour during the trial that sees as a defendant Murray.
The L.A. County District Attorney filed a motion today asking the judge to allow the rehearsal footage from June 23 and June 24 to be entered as evidence in Murray's trial.
If their motions filed Tuesday are granted, the jury will see a singing, dancing Jackson in excerpts from the concert movie "This Is It."
According to the motion, the D.A. believes the footage will support expected testimony from "This Is It" director Kenny Ortega that Michael was "happy and excited for the future".
The scenes from "This Is It", recorded during rehearsals for his planned concert tour, show an active, energetic Jackson engaged in his performance just days before his death, said David Walgren and Deborah Brazil, deputy district attorneys.
"These video clips are completely at odds with someone who, as the defense has claimed, would recklessly take his own life just hours after the last clip was filmed", said the prosecution motion.
The D.A. also filed a motion to allow limited photos from Michael Jackson's autopsy, inasmuch the photos will help the jury understand medical testimony.
"Moreover, the photographs of Michael Jackson are not gory or gruesome, lessening any potential for prejudice", the motion said.
