Dressed in a a silver jacket, his trademark black trousers, white socks, and iconic glove, Michael Jackson was proudly revealed by the club’s owner Mohamed Al Fayed ahead of their Barclays Premier League game against Blackpool.

Al Fayed has told fans they can “go to hell” if they don’t like the statue of Michael Jackson he has erected at the club’s Craven Cottage stadium.

Al Fayed, who unveiled the statue in a flamboyant ceremony before Sunday’s game against Blackpool, has denied claims that the memorial is bizarre and lashed out at fans who had spoken out against it.

“Why is it bizarre? Football fans love it,” Al Fayed said.

“If some stupid fans don’t understand and appreciate such a gift they can go to hell.

“I don’t want them to be fans. If they don’t understand and don’t believe in things I believe in they can go to Chelsea, they can go to anywhere else.

“People will queue to come and visit it from all over the UK and it is something that I and everybody else should be proud of.”
