New problems on the concert planned by the Jacksons
The concert planned by some members of the Jackson family meets new issues after the organizers missed their deadline of Thursday to name the performers for the October 8 show, and when tickets had to go on sale, instead of providing a link for purchases, it appeared the sentence "Please Standby for further announcements."
The problems started soon after the family announced the "Michael Forever: The Tribute Concert" at the Beverly Hills Hotel on July 25, when two of the Jacksons brothers, Randy and Jermaine, appeared to be against the timing of the concert owing to the upcoming Murray's trial that is expected to start on September 20.
Also, when fans who wanted to go tried to make their registration on the concert website, were confronted by a warning saying they had to place bids for a chance to buy a ticket. On top of the ticket price.
Afterwards, there was another warning saying that the higher their pledge to a charity, better were their chances of getting a good seat. Always apart from the ticket price.
(From the concert's website) "At the end of the registration period we will also analyse the pledge amounts and allocate tickets to the more expensive seats to those making the highest pledge."
By the many messages from fans, can be seen the discontent:
"The ticket system is so bad!! the higher you bid the better seats you get?? not every Michael fan is rich!!!" one fan posted on the "Michael Forever Tribute" Facebook page, Thursday.
After several days of such negative posts, a link to the Facebook page was removed from the concert’s website.
The October 8 show, in the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, which seats 75,000 people, would be at least four hours long, Hunt said.
In addition, a spokesman for Michael Jackson's Estate said last week that the promoters never sought or obtained permission from the Estate's Executors to use Michael Jackson's name or image.
"The Estate has not been contacted and is not involved with Global Live Events in the UK tribute concert announced today," spokesman Jim Bates told CNN.
